hey again its yours truly with another great movie review.
Today on the menu is Day Breakers. Day Breakers is a vampire movie with a odd twist. In 2009 a strange illness came upon the would and instead of killing everyone they turn into blood drinkers. The whole world is vampire proof, you, me, them all vampires living in a modern world. Now I like this idea just for one it kicks the whole hiding gothic vampire theory and throw it into the sun. Plus it helps you stand back and watch how their greed of blood mirror our own consumer drived world. How many times do you eat a hamburger and think about the cow? yea me neither but I might after this movie. There a lot of social comantary to this movie such as mention before consumerism killing us all and the want to be rid of un disireables to purfy and destory sub cultures for one perfect nation/unit of living. The creepy bat like creatures are (but im only going to give you a peer) vampires that have run out of blood and went nuts. Humor is slight but realist to a point. Theres a scuttle joke about the main chars ears,Edward (suck it meyer) being pointy from lack of blood that his human kidnapers point out. "bigger ears, less blood, not so human looking"
The art style has a hint of old school vampire movies such as "near dark and nosfurtu" with just a sprinkle of comic book art style. This movie is going to be loved by the children of the night but also a good thought provoking movie that is good for a friend movie night. It will make you think twice on how we live.

so I give it 5 burning blood suckers for 5.
Its worth the ticket and in turn the dvd sale.
